Rose 1

The first painting of a series of acrylic paintings on wood panels done of one still life. I find it interesting that I can see two drastically different images from the exact same set up. Both paintings were painted simultaneously working on one for an hour then switching to the other one. This piece became defined by its bright color and every time I was working on “Rose 2” and had an urge to add hot pink I would switch allowing myself to focus on other things on that piece.
